Glenn V. Ohanesian

Glenn  finished at the top of his class as Valedictorian at Bennettsville High School in 1983, and went on to graduate in 1987 from the Honors College at USC in Columbia at age eighteen. He then obtained his law degree from the USC School of Law in 1990 after having married Karolan in 1989. Glenn became an associate at the law firm of McKay, McKay, Henry & Foster in Columbia after graduation.

In January 1994, Glenn joined the family business and has practiced in Myrtle Beach for the last 18 years. With the addition of Karolan as a partner to the firm in 2010, the firm now has 100 years of combined legal experience.

He was recognized in law school with the Moot Court "Spirit of the Competition" Award and the American Jurisprudence Award in Real Estate Transactions. He also was runner-up in the J. Woodrow Lewis Moot Court Competition, during which he argued before the S.C. Supreme Court.

Since law school, he has been a two-time recipient of the Certificate of Appreciation from the S.C. Pro Bono Program. He attended the Defense Attorneys Trial Academy in 1991. Glenn has argued and prepared briefs before the S.C. Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, and has practiced in the United States Court of Appeals as well. He has been a member of the South Carolina and American Trial Lawyers Associations. He is a Certified Mediator and was also a Hearing Officer for the South Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Licensing Division. He has served as President of the Horry County Bar Association and Secretary of the Col. Lemuel Benton Chapter, SAR, and has served multiple terms as Chancellor for the State SAR (of which he is a life member) and as Knight Essay Chair for the State SAR. He is also a Mason, holding membership at Marlboro Lodge #88 in Bennettsville, SC. Glenn has been a member of the Grand Strand Optimist Club (focused on the youth of our community) and has served on its Board of Directors, as well as the Board of Directors for a division of the Better Business Bureau. He is a graduate of Leadership Grand Strand, a program sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce. He is formerly a professor of Business Law at The Golf Academy of the Carolinas, a satellite campus to the San Diego Golf Academy. He is a proud coach of his sons' baseball, football, and basketball teams. He is a founding member  of The Well by the Sea Episcopal Church in Myrtle Beach, where he has served on the vestry since the inception of the church and serves on the prayer and healing teams weekly.

Glenn has practiced law in a variety of fields, including employment; litigation; foreclosure defense; homeowners association issues; insurance disputes; corporate law; contracts; construction actions; personal injury/auto accidents; and criminal law. 


Karolan F. Ohanesian

Karolan F. Ohanesian is an attorney in Myrtle Beach, where she has been practicing since 1993. She was a partner in the firm of Furr, Henshaw and Ohanesian for many years prior to deciding to join forces with her husband as a partner in the Myrtle Beach office of  Ohanesian & Ohanesian. Karolan received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Carolina. From there she entered law school in 1990, obtaining her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993. During her time in law school, she was involved with Student Trial Lawyers and student government.

Since law school, she has served as President of the Horry Counrty Bar Association (2001); Horry County Advisory Circuit Court Committee (2007-2009); South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association Board of Governors, and more recently on the Board of Governors for the South Carolina Association for Justice (2001-2007). She has also served as Chairperson of the Ethics and Professionalism Section (2007-2008), the Executive Committee, the Political Action Committee, and the Honors & Recognition Committee for the S.C. Association of Justice. Karolan has served on the Board of Governors for the Southern Trial Lawyers Association (2008- 2010) and is a member of the Melvin Belli Society for Trial Attorneys. She was a volunteer attorney with Trial Lawyers Care, an organization providing pro bono assistance for victims of September 11th tragedy. She has held memberships in the South Carolina Bar Association, American Association of Justice, Horry County Bar Assiciation, South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, and the Grand Strand Optimist Club. She is past secretary of the Chicora Alternative Dispute Resolution; she has completed the training and serves as a Certified Circuit Court Mediator. She also served the South Carolina Bar Association as Chair of the Paralegal Task Force (2009), and as a member of the Resolution of Fee Dispute Board (2010-present). Karolan authored the Closing Arguments chapter in the South Carolina Civil Trial Techniques Handbook, and co-authored the Medical and Health Professionals Chapter in the state's authoritative treatise, South Carolina Jurisprudence.

Karolan concentrates her practice on personal injury and medical negligence  and was named 2009 South Carolina Medical Malpractice Lawyer of the Year. She is admitted to practice law in the United States Supreme Court, as well as all courts of South Carolina; U.S. District Court (federal court), District of South Carolina; U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit; U.S. Court of Federal Claims. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, South Carolina Association for Justice and the Horry County Bar Association.
