Glenn Ohanesian | Biography

Glenn  started college at age 14 and went on to graduate in 1987 from the Honors College at USC in Columbia at age 18. He then obtained his law degree from the USC School of Law in 1990 at age 20.

He was recognized in law school with the Moot Court "Spirit of the Competition" Award and the American Jurisprudence Award in Real Estate Transactions. He also was runner-up in the J. Woodrow Lewis Moot Court Competition, during which he argued before the S.C. Supreme Court.


Since law school, he has been a two-time recipient of the Certificate of Appreciation from the S.C. Pro Bono Program. He attended the Defense Attorneys Trial Academy in 1991. Glenn has argued and prepared briefs before the S.C. Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, and has practiced in the United States Court of Appeals as well. He has been a member of the South Carolina and American Trial Lawyers Associations. He is a Certified Mediator and was also a Hearing Officer for the South Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Licensing Division. He has served as President of the Horry County Bar Association and Secretary of the Col. Lemuel Benton Chapter, SAR, and has served multiple terms as Chancellor for the State SAR (of which he is a life member) and as Knight Essay Chair for the State SAR. Glenn has been a member of the Grand Strand Optimist Club (focused on the youth of our community) and has served on its Board of Directors, as well as the Board of Directors for a division of the Better Business Bureau. He is a graduate of Leadership Grand Strand, a program sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce. He is formerly a professor of Business Law at The Golf Academy of the Carolinas, a satellite campus to the San Diego Golf Academy. He has been a proud coach of his sons' baseball, football, and basketball teams. He is a founding member  of The Well by the Sea Church in Myrtle Beach, where he has served on the vestry, serves on the prayer and healing teams weekly, and is an ordained Deacon.

Glenn has practiced law in a variety of fields, including employment; litigation; personal injury; foreclosure defense; homeowners association issues; insurance disputes; corporate law; contracts; and construction actions.

Karolan Ohanesian | Biography

Karolan Ohanesian is a partner with Ohanesian Law Firm. She received her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993, after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 1988. It was at the university where she met her husband, Glenn Ohanesian, with whom she now practices in Myrtle Beach. She is admitted to practice law in the state of South Carolina, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the U.S. Supreme Court. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, Horry County Bar Association, South Carolina Association for Justice, South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, and is a Master in the Coastal American Inn of Court. Mrs. Ohanesian is also a certified Circuit Court and Family Court Mediator.

She was a volunteer attorney with Trial Lawyers Care, an organization providing pro bono assistance for victims of September 11th tragedy. Karolan authored the Closing Arguments chapter in the South Carolina Civil Trial Techniques Handbook, and co-authored the Medical and Health Professionals Chapter in South Carolina Jurisprudence. Her areas of practice include personal injury; medical negligence; social security disability; litigation and mediation.
